Brownie Base:

Pecan Pie Topping:
- 1/2 cup salted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 2 1/2 cups pecans, chopped
Instructions
Prepare the Oven and Pan:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a 9×9 inch baking pan with parchment paper for easy removal.
Brownie Layer:
- Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
Initial Bake:
- Bake for half the recommended time on the box, plus an additional 5 minutes.
Pecan Pie Topping:
- Whisk together melted butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt in a bowl.
- Stir in the eggs, then fold in the chopped pecans until well combined.
Combine Layers:
- Remove the brownies from the oven and carefully pour the pecan pie topping over the partially baked layer.
Final Bake:
- Return to the oven for another 25-30 minutes, or until the topping is set and slightly golden.
Cool and Chill:
- Allow to cool completely, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.
