Ingredients
Scale
- 2 medium bananas, slightly overripe
- 1 tablespoon sugar (or substitute with honey/maple syrup for a healthier option)
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- A pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- Non-stick cooking spray or a small amount of butter/oil for frying
Instructions
- Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into rounds approximately ½ inch thick.
- Mix the Seasonings: In a small mixing bowl, combine the sugar (or its substitute), ground cinnamon, and nutmeg (if using).
- Fry the Bananas: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and lightly coat with non-stick spray or a dab of butter/oil. Place the banana slices in the skillet in a single layer, and sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over them. Fry for 2-3 minutes until the underside is golden brown, then flip the slices.
- Serve Warm: Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture on the flipped side and cook for another 2 minutes, or until the bananas are caramelized and warm. Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
